Joe,
Thanks for the question on air fare and finding discounts on air travel. After a comprehensive search of the best air fares available from Las Vegas to Atlanta here’s what we’ve come up.
First, this purchase does not qualify for a 7 day advance purchase. While advance purchases are less important than they were 5 or even 10 years ago, the airlines still want to sell out as much as possible of each flight, and they want to sell those tickets as far in advance as is reasonable, so they still offer better discounts for airfare purchases made more than 7 days in advance. Occasionally we can find a last second deal where they are trying to fill the last few seats on a plane.
Second, travel from Las Vegas to Atlanta is not a route served by the discount airlines like Southwest Airlines, Jet Blue Airlines or Allegiant Air. Because of this, the major carriers are able to command a higher fare.
We’ve published a list of sites and fares below that takes into account these two factors. Basically, the fare that you have, is the best available right now. In fact, it appears that fare may be going away quickly and will increase by $50.00 once 5 more seats are sold. Our research shows that there is approximately a 74% chance of accuracy on that prediction. In other words, if you can get it, act quickly and purchase it because it looks like the fare is going up.

A couple of things to note. On each of these sites you have the option to be flexible on your travel dates. This little bit of flexibility could save additional money. Another site that you may want to check, which is not listed above is bestfares.com. This used to be a favorite site of mine for booking fares. For example, they are listing a fare from Las Vegas to Atlanta for $178 per person roundtrip. Your travel won’t qualify for this fare because you must have a 14 day advance purchase. However, in the future, this is a good site to do comparison shopping.
The last thing you should know is that Bing, Microsoft’s new search engine, has a special feature for airfare travel. It is a great way to get good comparisons from a variety of sites as well as look at many possible options, displayed in an easy to use and well organized manner. You can try it out at http://www.bing.com/travel/
Happy Travels.
