I Found Warm Fuzzies on a Recent Shopping Trip..
Not the kind you might think…As my fellow shoppers know, finding deals takes a lot of energy and a person can work up an appetite, right? Well I stopped to feed mine and got so much more than a full belly- My heart was filled as well.
Here is what happened…
I saw a dog leashed to a backpack outside of McDonalds today, waiting so nicely. I wondered why he didn’t just take off and drag that backpack with him. Inside (yes I occasionally eat at McDonalds) I saw the reason. His homeless owner was inside getting a 99 cent burger and fries. I commented to the man about the impressive behavior of his faithful companion, to which he smiled and replied “We have been together for 5 years.”
The man sat in a window seat and the dog moved to be next to him on the other side of the window. There he sat, happily wagging his tail. When the man left I saw him give the rest of the fries and his water to his friend. To most people I doubt the man would seem to have much to offer, but the dog loved him anyway. Now isn’t that friendship? It warmed my heart and I had to share it with all of you!
